Effective February 2009, the Immigration Department tabled a Circular (N0.6), allowing Malaysia My Second Home(MM2H) participants to invest in businesses, subject to domestic regulatory guidelines, which apply same to local Malaysians. Effective 1st May 2015, MM2H further announced that doing local business under MM2H visa is prohibited except being a passive investor. The position is permissible to hold in the business will strictly as ‘non-executive director’ or “shareholder” in the Malaysia Sdn Bhd local company entity.
For international business, we would recommend Labuan International Company where there are no restrictions of your undertaking in the entity. You can own the company 100% with a low minimum capital of USD1 with businesses such as trading, import, export, consultancy, e-commerce required no business license to operate.
